What Happens in a Quantum Healing Hypnosis technique (QHHT) Session?
If you’ve heard of Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT®), you might be curious — and also unsure what to expect.
I’ve had numerous people ask me “What is QHHT?” and “What can I expect from a QHHT session?” so I created this complete guide to walk you through exactly what happens, step by step, so you can feel informed and prepared.
Every session is unique to the individual. Experiences vary. What follows is a typical outline of how a QHHT session unfolds at Ascension Healings.
What Is QHHT?
QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) is a form of hypnosis developed by Dolores Cannon. It is designed to help individuals access their subconscious mind (often called the Higher Self or Subconscious) for healing, insight, and guidance.
Unlike traditional hypnosis that focuses mainly on suggestions, QHHT allows you to explore deeper parts of yourself that are not always accessible in everyday awareness — including past lives, the root of current challenges, and direct communication with your own subconscious wisdom.
Who Is QHHT Best For?
QHHT can be especially helpful if you:
Feel stuck in repeating patterns and want to understand the root
Are curious about past lives or the deeper meaning behind current life experiences
Want clarity on life purpose, relationships, health, or spiritual questions
Have tried other approaches and still feel something deeper is waiting to be understood
Are open to exploring your subconscious with curiosity rather than rigid expectations
Who Might Not Be the Best Fit Right Now?
QHHT may not be ideal if you:
Are currently in acute mental health crisis (we recommend stabilizing with appropriate professional support first)
Are looking for someone else to “fix” you without your own participation
Feel strongly resistant to the idea of hypnosis or subconscious exploration
If you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to reach out and ask questions before booking.
Step 1: Intention Conversation
Your session begins with a relaxed, unhurried conversation. During this time we:
Discuss your intentions and the questions you’d like to explore
Talk through any current challenges, patterns, or physical/emotional concerns
Review your life history at a high level so the subconscious has clear context
Set a focused direction for the session
This conversation is an important part of the process. It helps create clarity and allows your subconscious to begin organizing the information that will surface later.
Step 2: Guided Hypnosis
You will then be guided into a deeply relaxed state using a gentle, progressive induction.
In this state:
Your body becomes deeply relaxed
Your conscious mind becomes quieter
Your subconscious becomes more accessible
Most people describe the feeling as similar to a very deep meditation or that peaceful state just before falling asleep — while still remaining aware.
You are not unconscious. You can still hear my voice and respond. Many clients are surprised by how natural and safe it feels. The reason for this is that we enter into hypnosis several times each day, most specifically each morning before we awaken and each night before we fall asleep. This is the Theta brainwave state.
Step 3: Subconscious Exploration
Once you are in a deep state, we begin exploring.
Depending on what your subconscious chooses to show, this phase may include:
Scenes or memories from the current lifetime
Symbolic experiences
Past life memories (when relevant)
Direct communication with your Subconscious / Higher Self
Insights about current challenges, relationships, health, or life purpose
Contact with crossed over loved ones
Meeting or connecting with your guides
You remain an active participant. I ask questions, and you describe what you are experiencing. There is no force and no script — we follow what arises for you.
Step 4: Healing and Integration
One of the most powerful aspects of QHHT is the healing component.
Once we have established clear communication with your Subconscious, we can ask it to:
Reveal the root of physical or emotional issues (when it is ready)
Release energy, beliefs, or patterns that are no longer serving you
Restore balance
Provide guidance for moving forward
The Subconscious often has a very compassionate and practical perspective. Many clients leave with both insight and a felt sense of shift.
What Does a QHHT Session Feel Like?
Most people report:
Feeling deeply relaxed during the session
Remaining aware and able to speak
Experiencing a sense of safety
Feeling clearer, lighter, or more peaceful afterward
Sometimes feeling tired the rest of the day (similar to the integration after deep inner work)
Experiences range from vivid and emotional to subtle and quiet. Both are valid. The Subconscious shows what is most useful for you at that time.
How Long Is a QHHT Session?
A full QHHT session typically lasts 4–6 hours. This includes the pre-talk, the hypnosis work, and time afterward for integration and discussion.
Because of the depth of the work, we do not rush the process or keep track of time, the session lasts as long as necessary unless advised otherwise by the client.
How to Prepare for Your Session
Come with an open mind and a list of questions or areas you’d like clarity on
Avoid alcohol or recreational substances the day before and day of the session
Avoid or reduce caffeine consumption day of the session
Wear comfortable clothing
It can be helpful (but not required) to have a notebook for after the session
Get a good night’s sleep beforehand if possible
After the Session
Many people notice continued insights, dreams, or subtle shifts in the days and weeks that follow. Integration is a natural part of the process.
You are welcome to schedule follow-up support if you feel called to continue the work.
A complete QHHT session is broken down into four main parts:
Intention Conversation – We discuss your questions, intentions, and what you’d like to explore.
Hypnosis Experience – You are guided into a deep state of relaxation where the subconscious becomes accessible.
Integration Conversation – We review what arose during the session and discuss how to work with the insights.
Listening to Your Recording – You receive a full recording of the session to revisit and continue integrating in the days and weeks that follow. It is recommended to listen at least three times.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to believe in past lives for QHHT to work?
No. While past lives sometimes arise, the work is ultimately about accessing your own subconscious wisdom. You do not need any particular belief system.
Can QHHT be done virtually?
No, QHHT sessions are only done in-person.
Will I remember everything?
Most people vary on what they remember of the session. You will also receive a recording so you can revisit it later. It is recommended that you listen to the recording at least three times for full integration of the session,
Is QHHT the same as traditional hypnosis?
No. While it uses hypnosis as a tool, QHHT is specifically designed to access the Subconscious for insight and healing rather than focusing primarily on suggestions.
How do I know if a QHHT practitioner is reputable?
Look for proper certification through the official QHHT channels, clear communication, and a practitioner who prioritizes your safety and autonomy. You can read more in our guide: How to Find a Reputable QHHT Practitioner Near Me in Pittsburgh & Monroeville, PA.
